DJ Jay T

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Jay T found his musical passion in middle school where he joined the band and was a member until his senior year of high school.

He was introduced into the skate world at 14 years old attending family sessions at United Skates of America (East). Whilst listening to the rink DJ perform, he found his passion for DJing.

DJ Jay T is now the DJ at that very rink (United Skates of America (East)) for one of the adult nights and Saturday family sessions. He is very passionate about continuing to work with the youth through music helping them learn the Columbus signature stride style and help encourage others to learn it as well.

Jay T's first event was a kickback, where he DJ’d with just a laptop before buying his first set of CDJs at the age of 16. His first time introduced into the rink as a DJ was in 2022 as a feature. His first solo session was in 2023 during black history month for a lunch break skate that featured the news giving the history of the Columbus rink and style along with a showcase.

DJ Jay T continues to grow and elevate in the rinks as a DJ and a skater.
